It's time for another adventure! This one will be a bit shorter than the last, I'll only be on the road for two weeks. I'm heading out west to Gardnerville, Nevada (Topaz Lake, a bit south of Reno) to meet up with a few of my VROC (Vulcan Rider's and Owner's Club) family. Fortunately they don't kick you out when you buy a Gold Wing. After a few days riding that beautiful area of the country, I plan to spend a couple of days at Bryce Canyon, doing some meandering. From there I'll be stopping to see some VROC friends in Silt, CO, and then on to see my friends Sue, JJ and McKenna in Henderson. Then hitting the road for home, two long days on the super slab.
I'll be covering about 5,000 miles on the way there and back, plus any area riding that I do (and I hope to do a LOT of that!). The picture below is a general route. Unfortunately spending a lot of time on interstates given the limited time I have for this trip. But the riding out west will be worth it!
The first couple of days will be all interstate, and a route I know like the back of my hand. From there I'm going to take the northern route across I-80 instead of I-70. A change of scenery, I've done I-70 more times than I care to remember! Then the fun stuff begins!
I'll be checking in, and doing more posting when the scenery gets better.
I hope you enjoy traveling with me!
Unless people on the east have made a land journey to the west they don't realize how FAR the distances are from the Mississippi River to California.
ReplyDeleteHave a great ride!
At Wendover, cut down to Ely on US 50. Everyone should experience the Loneliest Road In America.
